Driver's licence & Additional driver:
A full licence held for minimum of 2 years with no major endorsements. UK licence holders need to present the photocard. If your driver's licence is not in the Roman alphabet (i.e. if it is in Arabic, Greek, Cyrillic or Chinese) you are required to bring an International Driving Permit and your domestic licence. For driving licenses from countries not part of the international driving license treaty, an official translation of the license must be presented with the original license. When renting within the EU, customers who do not hold a driving licence issued by an EU/EEA country or Switzerland must also present an International Driving Permit along with their domestic licence. Additional driver Additional drivers can be added to your rental for a charge of 5 EUR per day. Maximum 50 EUR. Includes 18% tax. Please pay for additional drivers at the rental desk when picking up your vehicle.

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to hire a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.
Travel Restrictions
PORTUGAL MAINLAND: Cross Border policy - Rental car may only be driven into the permitted countries listed here:
Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, France, Finland, United Kingdom, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Republic of Ireland, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
The rental vehicle must be returned to an Alamo location in mainland Portugal. The rental vehicle is also prohibited from ferry travel to the islands of Madeira and Azores from the Portuguese mainland as this is not covered by insurance.
CROSS BORDER FEE (GREEN CARD):
This product allows the Guerin-Alamo rental vehicle to travel outside of Portugal in accordance to the cross border conditions specified in the green card. The rental vehicle should always be returned to the original pickup location in Portugal.
The cost of this product is EUR 73.80 per rental. If renter's drive the rental vehicle cross border without prior authorization and without payment of this supplement they will be penalised EUR 3.69 per km effective from the beginning of the rental and will be responsible for any damage occurred to the rental vehicle. All fees quoted include VAT.
